American model and actress, Emily Ratajkowski took to Instagram in order to tell of her essay titled ‘Buying Myself Back’ that was published in New York Magazine. As might be known, Ratajkowski released her first-person essay which is “an extremely personal piece about image, power, and consent” and this received numerous positive feedback.
The model said that she was so nervous that she couldn’t sleep before the essay was published on Tuesday, and added:
“I had to keep reminding myself why I’d written it and decided to publish it at all. I thought about my younger self and the healing that writing about something you once couldn’t even talk about provides.”
Ratajkowski expressed she mostly focused on the hope that other women might recognize their own experiences in her story while writing.
“It’s been nothing short of life-changing to see how many women (and men!) this piece resonated with.”
Following thanks to the entire New York magazine team for their support, she expressed her gratitude for fans & followers as well:
“Thank you to every single person who read, shared, commented, and tagged me. I can’t tell you what it feels like to see my words in print and to hear from each and every one of you. Thank you.”
