Elton John Celebrates His 30 Years Of Sobriety: “My 30th Sobriety Birthday”

The legendary musician Elton John posted to Instagram a series of snaps from his 30th sobriety birthday. The 73-year-old uploaded the pictures of many cards that came from friends and family, a “30” cake, cards, and a 30-year recovery chip.

As might be known, the ‘Rocket Man’ singer has been fighting against drug and alcohol abuse since 1990. Regarding his struggle, John had told the followings to Variety in 2004:

My sobriety has brought me everything that I could possibly wish for.”

As for the other day, Elton John wrote as follows along with the photos:

“Reflecting on the most magical day having celebrated my 30th Sobriety Birthday.”

Then, the legend described himself as a blessed man for the support he has been received along the “recovery” way:

“So many lovely cards, flowers, and chips from my sons, David, friends in the Program, the staff at the office, and in our homes. I’m truly a blessed man.”

Later, the numerous award winner stated that in case he did not ask for professional treatment, he would be dead of drug abuse. He wrote:

“If I hadn’t finally taken the big step of asking for help 30 years ago, I’d be dead. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the people who have inspired and supported me along the way. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️😇😇”

Following the post, many celebs showed off their support by leaving highly positive comments:

“To our darling friend, we are so proud of you always, but today, 30 years clean and sober is one of your greatest achievements 🙏🏻❤️” commented, Sharon Osbourne.

“Congratulations mate! ❤️” wrote, Sam Fender.
