As already known, Elon Musk who is the founder, CEO, and chief engineer of space transportation services company SpaceX, and art-pop singer Grimes welcomed their first child in May 2020.
The couple named their baby boy, “X Æ A-12 Musk” and surprised the entire world with this unusual preference. Besides, they caused controversy on how to pronounce this name.
While all these discussions are going on, the state of California, where the baby was born, stated that the name “X Æ A-12 Musk” wouldn’t comply with state law.
From the Office of Public Affairs of the California Department of Public Health, Matt Connens sent an e-mail to USA Today and used the following statements to explain the situation:
“A name like ‘X Æ A-12’ would not be allowed. Vital records must be completed with the 26 alphabetical characters of the English language and appropriate punctuation such as hyphens, apostrophes, periods, and commas.”
So it seems the couple, Musk and Grimes need to find a name that is a legally acceptable name for California laws for their infant.
