One of the world’s best-selling music artists Ed Sheeran, and pro hockey player Cherry Seaborn welcomed their baby daughter, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, last week.
To release the great news, the ‘Shape of You’ singer posted a picture of a pair of socks and a blanket, supposed to belong newly born daughter, and share the caption that reads:
“Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.”
Sheeran, who met her wife in school, in 2015 and been together for nearly 2 years, expressed he and his wife were beyond the happiness:
“We are completely in love with her. Both mom and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.”
As for on the genesis of the baby’s name, there is a good number of predictions. The most powerful one is that it comes from Sheeran’s favorite Philip Pullman book series, ‘His Dark Materials.’
