Devale Ellis, best known for his YouTube channel ‘The Ellises‘ took to his verified Instagram account and opened up about his struggles with his mother, Karen Ellis.

On April 17, the former American football star released a video, in which he is saying that the mothers do not change their behaviours towards their kids even though the kids became grown-ups, owned their houses, and started a family. Alongside the video seeing that he and his mother are seen debating, Ellis revealed that his teenage period did not go well at all because of the family relationship.

Underneath the video he named “Moms Always Gonna Mom” the YouTuber wrote the following message as a caption:

“I grew up in a house with high standards, chores, respect for my parents, no music with curse words and no closed doors.”

The social media personality, who frequently released posts in order to show that he devoted his life to his wifey Khadeen Ellis and their children – Kairo Shakur Ellis, Jackson Karter Ellis and Kaz Hendrix Ellis – got candid about the hardships he faced in the family house when he was young:

“Long story short, I spent a lot of time in my room punching the air and screaming at the top of my lungs with no sound coming out.”

Despite all of these hardships that come from living with parents, who do not admit that their children are now grown-ups, Ellis stated that he owes so much to his mother, Karen. In his own words:

“But I wouldn’t be the person I am today without my Mama.”

Besides, Instagram users pointed out the sentence, Karen made “I paid the mortgage on your life” and added numerous smiling face emojis.
