Calling off her engagement with actor Max Ehrich back in September, Demi Lovato was not alone on Valentine’s Day this year.
On the day, Lovato, who released her musical collaboration with singer & songwriter Sam Fischer the other week, jumped into social media to express her admiration for well-known writer Alok Vaid-Menon who made great contributions to LGBTQ+ acts. The singer released an array of pictures with Vaid-Menon while celebrating the day, and thanked the gender non-conforming writer for leading her to think through a different aspect regarding gender issues.
Alongside the photos in which the singer is seen with pink glasses while Vaid-Menon in a pink princess dress, Lovato wrote the following message as a caption on her verified Instagram:
“Thank you @alokvmenon for such a fun, yet beautifully raw and vulnerable valentines. I truly believe that gender is just another boundary between humanity and divine wisdom. And you opened my eyes to that.”
Lovato went on praising the performance artist for “shining a light on the world and making it a brighter place to live in.” After expressing her love for Vaid-Menon, Lovato concluded her words as follows:
“You make me excited for the things we both have in store for this year because I truly believe we can create healing together for those who are afraid to live their truth’s as I once was. Thank you for being the lighthouse that directed me to my truth.”
A shortly before the ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer released the above-mentioned post, Alok also took to Instagram and published a message announcing that spending Valentine with Lovato is a great pleasure. In the message, the well-known writer also stated:
“Last night Demi tore a space from the universe and claimed it just for us. We said the things we weren’t supposed to say. We felt the things we weren’t supposed to feel. We loved the love we weren’t supposed to love. And I will never be the same again.”
Both the Instagram posts of Lovato and Alok received highly positive feedback from their fans & followers; maybe it is the beginning of a longtime friendship.
