The actress and singer Christina Milian uploaded a photo of Vanessa Guillen on Instagram on July 6 and demanded justice for her, along with a long and touching caption.
‘When You Look at Me’ singer spoke of 20-year-old Guillen, who allegedly killed by a fellow soldier, and she pledged to follow this case until the truth comes out.
Milian wrote as follows to express her sorrow regarding the issue:
“Sending my respects to Vanessa Guillan’s family & wanna honor her for her bravery as a soldier to our country. Rest Peacefully, Angel.”
The ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ actress added:
“This story triggers many nerves. Most especially the fact that she feared being blackballed or shamed for reporting sexual harassment really breaks my heart…”
Milian also spoke on behalf of women who are serving for armed forces and urged them to share their stories. She also encouraged her followers to take action to demand justice:
“As this story has continued to swell many women in the military & workplace are telling their stories and I would like to commend them for their bravery as I know it’s prob not easy to share. But just know that we are listening. And here to stand up for you with you. Eyes wide open…
This story shouldn’t have ended this way. #justiceforvanessaguillen”
