Singer, songwriter, and record producer Carrie Underwood went to Instagram with a never-before-seen photo of her son, Jacob Bryan Fisher in honor of his 2nd birthday.

The three-time Grammy Award-winning star also added a touching message through the caption section; in her message, the mother of two referred to the three miscarriages in between her births and expressed her happiness for holding Jacob after a long wait:

“Jacob, we longed for you. We prayed for you. We walked a long, hard road in order to one day hold you.”

Then the ‘Jesus, Take the Wheel‘ hitmaker, who welcomed Jacob’s big brother, Isaiah Michael Fisher in 2015 with her NHL player husband Mike Fisher, marked the day with the following words:

“Today you are two. You are silly and strong. You love to play and sing and follow your big brother around. You are loved. You are cherished. You are an incredible blessing from God. Happy birthday, sweet boy! ❤️”

As fans might remember, Underwood delivered the exciting news regarding she had given birth to her second baby boy, in 2019, through her verified Instagram account. By releasing a series of family photos from the hospital room, she wrote that Jacob had entered the world and brought a great cheer to their lives. She continued:

“His mom, dad, and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle! Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good…”

Months before she had given birth to Jacob, during an interview with CBS News, Underwood described miscarriages as “horrible things” that turned her life a nightmare.
