Recently gained high praises for her latest hit ‘Up,’ Cardi B became sociable on March 29 in order to slam those who spread Hispanic stereotypes. The ‘WAP’ rapper first released the following tweet to share her ideas on an upcoming video and declared that she wants to work with different Hispanic people or Latin people:

“I think I’m going to a video of different Hispanic people or Latin people or w.e terms is the correct way to say it now a days cause people be thinking every Hispanic is Mexican or something & must have the same hair texture, color, and features.”

However, the comments sent by a great number of social media users were not like B had expected to get. Whereupon, the rapper took to social media account one more time to clarify the issue. On Instagram, she posted the comments full of stereotypes plus selfies seeing her with afro hair and added the following message as a caption:

“This year I will be coming out with a hairline that I been working on at home for my hair and my daughters however, I think its time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race, and ethnicity. Being Hispanic/Latina don’t make your hair long, don’t make your skin light or don’t make your face features slim especially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands.”

B, who is the daughter of a Dominican father and Trinidadian mother, concluded her words by saying that DNA is not about nationality and added that “not every one that speaks Spanish is Mexican.”

However, she did not calm down and continued her criticism on her verified Twitter account; on the platform, the mother-of-one stated that the US school system has failed to educate, so she received those comments. In her words:

“Even I have to learn proper terms that I had to educate my own self as a adult. For example. Saying your Spanish doesn’t make sense unless you’re from Spain.”
