The former member of the girl group ‘Fifth Harmony,’ Camilla Cabello is set to portray ‘Cinderella’ in Sony’s musical romantic comedy, debuting next year.
Shortly before, it was announced that the production of the live-action musical adaptation of ‘Cinderella’ had restarted following the shut down in March due to the coronavirus outbreak. Director Kay Cannon teased certain set photos in which Camillo appeared, and confirmed the filming resumed.
Cabello expressed her excitement for being a part of the movie, written and produced by James Corden, while celebrating Nicholas Galitzine’s – her role mate – birthday through a highly funny Instagram post. Alongside a series of photos of herself with Galitzine, she wrote:
“Happy birthday to this guy!!!! ! He plays the prince in our Cinderella film, (spoiler alert: it’s quite a different take on the story 👀👀) and it’s his BIRTHDAY today ! Can’t wait for u guys to see us be this stupid on the big screen 🥳🥳🥳🥳 love you lots nickster”
Along with the singer, the cast includes Idina Menzel (as evil stepmother), Billy Porter (as godparent), Nicholas Galitzine (as Prince Robert), John Mulaney, James Corden, and Missy Elliot.
The film which is a feminist version of the traditional tale is scheduled to be released on February 5, 2021.
