The recipient of numerous music awards including Grammy, American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and Brit Award, singer Billie Eilish made a statement the other day to encourage people to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the upcoming election.
Before performing her latest single ‘My Future’ during the Democratic National Convention on August 19, the ‘Bad Guy’ singer sent a highly forceful message to viewers. She began by saying:
“You don’t need me to tell you things are a mess. Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about. We need leaders who will solve problems like climate change and COVID, not deny them, leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality.”
The 18-year-old Eilish, who will be able to vote for the first time this year, continued as follows:
“And that starts by voting for someone who understands how much is at stake, someone who is building a team that shares our values. It starts with voting against Donald Trump and for Joe Biden.”
As known, the young artist criticized President Donald Trump several times in the past through social media channels. Once again, she ripped him on Twitter following the death of George Floyd. She concluded her message:
“Silence is not an option, and we cannot sit this one out. We all have to vote like our lives and the world depends on it because they do. The only way to be certain of the future is to make it ourselves. Please register, please vote.”
