Professional surfer Bethany Hamilton got candid about how the shark attack which resulted in losing her left arm affected her; as a mother.
On April 28, the 31-year-old surfer, who became an inspirational role model for many people, took to her verified Instagram account and released a photo of herself with her little son Micah, who was born on February 14, 2021, and talked “a little bit about Mom life with one arm.”
Teen Choice Award-winning mother, who has three children – sons Tobias, Wesley and Micah – wrote the following note in the caption section:
“Well I’m raising our third son, so the tricks and adaptations are getting better with each child. When they are this young and have the wobbly head and need constant attention, nursing, diaper changes, tummy soothing, lots of sleep and of course smiles, kisses and more.”
The surfer, welcoming her first baby back on June 1, 2015, two years after marrying the youth minister Adam Dirks, continued her message by answering the questions he got from her fans and followers. According to what she stated in the caption section, Hamilton was frequently asked about how she does primary things for child care. She wrote:
“I use my feet to help with diaper changing, lots of pillows with nursing, a baby carrier all throughout the day and tricky styles of holding to keep baby’s head up. Sometimes it can get frustrating but I just gotta keep moving forward, have Lil breaks and keep it positive!”
Stating that she feels stronger when she remembers that she has done it before, Hamilton inspired her fans and followers one more time with this post. She concluded it as follows:
“And as a family we make it work! Loving our Lil Micah and looking forward to more life with him! Cheering on all you mommas out there grinding, loving and doing your best!”
