Hours after stating that writing works as a healing process for her, multiple Grammy Award-winning singer & songwriter Alicia Keys revealed that she and her boyfriend have shared a journal for more than 15 years.
The intimate announcement came on the day of her brother’s 30th birthday. On March 24, brother Cole Cook, who is the founder of Timeless Eye, turned 30 and the big sister marked the milestone through her verified Instagram account. Keys uploaded a photo of herself with Cook lying on the bed, and wished him a happy birthday in the caption section. She wrote:
“It’s my big lil brother’s bday, family!!!!!!! This guy is one of the most stand-up, creative, kind, brilliant beings I have ever met!!!”
Then the ‘Underdog’ singer pointed out to the journal which is seen in the photo and stated that it is a treasure both for her and brother:
“The book in this pic is a journal we have shared since he was 13 years old! We go DEEP!! He’s one of the best things that has EVER happened to me! I love you brother!”
Meanwhile, Cook jumped into his social media accounts both to thank for the birthday wishes and mention how the first day of the age of 30. The uncle to Egypt and Genesis wrote:
“Starting my 30’s with family, laughter, and feet on my face 😂😂 sounds like the perfect start to me! Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes ❤️”
