While a great number of celebs releasing posts in honor of Mother’s Day, one of the 100 Greatest Women in Music lists, Alicia Keys celebrated her mother Terria Joseph’s 71st birthday in her style, on May 8.
On Mother’s Day, the multiple-time Grammy Award-winning star Keys honored her mother with a poem she wrote for her; the singer & songwriter released the art piece through her verified Instagram account. Along with a photo that sees Keys with her 71-year-old mother, she wrote in the caption section:
“My beautiful mama / The most extraordinary woman I know / Your life is so precious to me / You gave me everything.”
17-time NAACP Image Award winner continued her tribute to her mother was working as a paralegal and part-time actress with this verse:
“I owe you everything / You are so fun, smart and intelligent / You make me laugh, u make me better, u made me everything I am.”
In her message, the mother-of-two – Egypt Daoud Dean and Genesis Ali Dean – also stated that she really adores her mother, who has Italian, Irish, and Scottish descent; she said:
“Happy born day! May this year be the best year of your life! Unleash your greatness. I’m here for you forever!“
As fans might remember, the Grammy-winner marked Joseph’s birthday last year with an adorable message thanking her for “raising, cuddling, listening, and cuddling” her. At that time, the singer & songwriter also revealed that her mother is where she got her strength, empathy, compassion, kindness, and toughness. Added:
“I wouldn’t be half of how I am without you. You are my treasure! I cherish you, mommy!”
