British singer and songwriter Adele hosted ‘Saturday Night Live‘ and showed off how funny she was, in addition to her talents and artistry.
The ‘Hello‘ singer began taking the stage by saying she was so much excited to be the host for the show.
“My God, I’m absolutely thrilled to finally be hosting this show.”
Referring to the time she appeared as a musical guest in the show, Adele told of what ‘SNL‘ meant to her and her career:
“Not only do I genuinely love this show, but it’s the show that broke my career in America, 12 long years ago. You see I was the musical guest back in 2008 when Sarah Palin came on with Tina Fey, so obviously, a few million people tuned in to watch it. And well, the rest is now history.”
The singer kept her positive and hilarious attitude throughout the show even while talking about the 2020 United States election. Adele said that she did not do anything about American politics and did not want to say anything too political because she was British, just thanked Sarah Palin for everything.
Then ‘Someone Like You‘ hitmaker clarified why she was hosting by saying:
“I know there’s been a lot of chatter about me just being the host. Like, ‘Why isn’t she the musical guest?’ There’s a couple of reasons. My album’s not finished and I’m also too scared to do both. I’d rather just put on some wigs and this is all mine by the way.”
During her speech, Adele also joked about her weight loss. As known, the singer has lost more than 40 pounds over the year.
“I know I look really, really different since you last saw me. But actually, because of all the COVID restrictions and the travel bans, I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me.”
