Rapper, singer and songwriter Lil Baby is going on demanding justice for George Floyd.
On the first anniversary of Floyd’s murder, – on May 26 – the Atlanta-based rapper joined the Floyd Family and visited the White House in order to pay tribute to the 46-year-old who murdered by former police officer Derek Chauvin during an arrest.
After being spotted during his visit to White House alongside the members of George Floyd’s family, ‘The Bigger Picture‘ artist released a two-photo-gallery showing him with Vice President Kamala Harris. Alongside the photos, the Grammy-nominated rapper wrote that he had a discussion with the first female vice president.
Underneath the photos, Lil Baby, born Dominique Armani Jones, stated:
“Big shoutout to @vp for taking the time out of her busy day to sit with me and have an open discussion!“
The rapper, who did not reveal that whether he met with President Joe Biden or not, concluded his message with the hashtag: “We gotta start somewhere.”
During the White House visit which the rapper also attended, George Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd said in a press meeting:
“We’re just thankful for what’s going on and we just want the George Floyd Policing Act to be passed. If you can make federal laws to protect the bird, which is the bald eagle, you can make federal laws to protect people of color.”
