The 2020 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class ceremony to induct Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash with his 13-year-old daughter on January 27, 2020, has been delayed until the spring of 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The chairman of the board of the governors for the Hall, Jerry Colangelo, stated:
“We’re definitely canceling. It’s going to have to be the first quarter of next year. We’ll meet in a couple of weeks and look at the options of how and when and where.”
Kobe Bryant’s 2020 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame Induction originally scheduled to take place on August 29, in Massachusetts, and has been considered one of the best ceremonies in History.
Therefore, this delay upset all the basketball lovers, especially Kobe Bryant fans; and some of them argued that this action was unnecessary.
