Rapper and music executive Swizz Beatz expressed disbelief in the death of legendary rapper DMX; as known, on April 9, it was officially announced that Earl Simmons passed away at the age of 50, after he lost functionality in multiple essential organs.
The same day, Swizz Beatz, born Kasseem Daoud Dean, took to his verified Instagram account, released a video of himself with X singing Irene Cara’s ‘I’m Gonna Live Forever.’ Alongside the black & white video, Dean added a caption that reads:
“I’m truly beyond devastated! But I’m so happy my brother is no longer in pain. I watched him take everyone’s pain and make it his own I send my love and support to his entire family 🙏🏽 My brother we will never let them forget your name and you will live forever F.A.M.E🌹 Long live King DMX.”
In addition to the video and the accompanying message, Dean also changed his official Instagram profile picture with DMX’s one of the black and white photos.
Following the post of X’ long-time friend Dean, Tyrese Gibson, Lenny Kravitz, Wiz Khalifa and so on released their tributes through the comments section. What’s more, Dean’s well-known wifey, Alicia Keys went to her verified Instagram account with another touching video. Underneath the video, where the two singing the X’ favorite song, Keys wrote the following message as a caption:
“I’ll never forget this day… You said it was your favorite song. I’m so grateful I could play some of it for you. Look at you…all heart, all passion. No one who ever met you or listened to you can ever forget you! There is no one like you… May Light, love, and peace surround your family, children, and loved ones.”
The ‘Underdog’ hitmaker concluded her words by sending her condolences to the entire Ruff Ryder family.
