Actor and comedian Sarah Silverman remembered her friend, well-known musician Adam Schlesinger on his first death anniversary with a touching Instagram post.
On April 1, Silverman went to her official page with a photo of Schlesinger, who passed away due to COVID-19-related complications in 2020, and offered a tribute to him with a lengthy caption. The stand-up comedian began her message by saying that she has learned nothing in retrospect so she would share the same post with the previous year. Before reposting, Silverman wrote:
“I have no enlightened perspective about it. It was a loss that was totally unnecessary. If pandemic research wasn’t cut entirely by the previous administration in 2018 it is absolutely reasonable to deduct he’d be alive today. So fu*k you Donald Trump.”
While accusing Trump of triggering the novel coronavirus spread quickly, the 50-year-old thanked “the scientists who have gotten the rest of us to the finish line.”
As fans might remember, Silverman delivered the devastating news that Schlesinger died on April 1 from the pandemic through her verified Instagram account, and at that time, she expressed that she is in shock. The ‘Sarah Silverman Show’ star also stated that her body and mind would not believe the passing of the musician, and continued as follows:
“Adam was an astonishing songwriter and composer and one of the funniest people you could know. His songs are funny and poignant, and often- despite himself- stunningly heartfelt. Adam was hilarious and generous and kind. We’ve worked together for years, both of us able to fight hard like siblings, always ALWAYS knowing that we loved each other like siblings.”
In her heartfelt message, Silverman called the musician who played as a member of the bands such as Fountains of Wayne, Ivy, and Tinted Windows “her brother” and concluded by saying that her heart was broken at all.
As the comedian stated in her homage, the legendary star was one of the first victims of the coronavirus disease in the United States. After he had been hospitalized in Poughkeepsie, New York, he was placed on a ventilator; however, his body was not able to battle the disease.
