Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who is the world’s most powerful man, has just announced that he tested positive for Covid-19 and updated his fans about his health on his Instagram account.
On Sunday, Thor Bjornsson, also known as ‘The Mountain‘ on ‘Game of Thrones,’ took Instagram to announce unexpected news about his health and stated that during his practices he started to feel ill and decided to get tested again for Covid-19 although he just got tested a few days ago:
“Little update for you guys. So Saturday I started to feel ill and decided to get tested again even though I just got tested on the 19th (Tuesday) and that test came back negative.”
Although both test results were negative at first, the last test was positive and Bjornsson has been in bed since then. He revealed that he will stay isolated and urged fans to stay safe:
“The test I did on Saturday the 23th came back positive and I’ve been laying in bed since. The next two weeks will be isolation for me. This is no joke. Stay safe people! I don’t wish this on anyone. Hopefully the world will be in a better place soon ❤️”
This September Bjornsson was set to collide with fellow ‘World’s Strongest Man’ Eddie Hall and has been training for his professional boxing debut in Las Vegas.
Last year, Bjornsson set a world record for deadlifting 1,104.54 pounds at his gym in Iceland breaking the record that was held by Eddie Hall. Bjornsson is taking his first boxing match really seriously as he recently competed in an exhibition boxing match with Steven Ward.
