Hip-Hop star MF Doom, best known for his music performances in a mask, died at the age of 49.
The devastating news regarding the rapper, born Daniel Dumile, spread when his wife Jasmine announced through the star’s official Instagram page that her beloved husband had passed away on October 31.
The message released on New Year’s Eve and addressed directly to Dumile said:
“The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover, and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught, and given to me, our children and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give them another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. “
Jasmine Dumile continued thanking her late husband by saying that she is grateful that he showed how not to be afraid to love and be the best person she could ever be. Then, added:
“My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always. May THE ALL continue to bless you, our family and the planet.”
At the end of the message, the rapper’s wife added as a note that he had transitioned 2 months ago; however, she did not reveal the cause of death. Dumile’s representative also confirmed the news.
Following the post, which caused great consternation, a lot of people jumped into the comment section to express their sorrow.
What’s more, numerous musicians including Danny Brown, JPEGMafia, Denzel Curry, DJ Premier, El-P, Flying Lotus, the Creator, Ghostface Killah, Noname, Q-Tip, Questlove, and Tyler, paid tributes to the rapper, named after Marvel’s ‘Doctor Doom.’
