Actor Tyrese Gibson, best known for his portrayal of ‘Roman Pearce‘ in ‘Fast & Furious’ film series, announced that he and her wife of 4 years, Samantha Gibson are divorcing.
Gibson delivered the news as a joint statement, through his verified Instagram account; he posted a photo of himself kissing his wife Samantha, and added a lengthy caption to announce that they “have decided to make a statement of a painful and significant development in” their lives.
Stating that the decision was made after much thought, consideration, and prayer, the actor and his wife continued their statement:
“We, unfortunately, have made the difficult decision to officially separate & divorce. Our intention is to remain the best of friends & strong coparents. We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and deeply grateful for the 4 years we have been married to each other.”
The couple also stated that they are proud to have had each other even though their journey of 4 years has been “a ride of both ups & downs.” They did not forget to share their thoughts for the future:
“We both have grown tremendously within this relationship; we have shared so many beautiful memories and moments, and we also look forward to seeing the amazing futures we have ahead of us individually.”
Tyrese and Samantha, who asked their fans and the media outlets to respect their privacy at this time as they deal with the reality of where they are, concluded their statement as follows:
“As if 2020 hasn’t already been extremely grueling and challenging to us all we wanted to mutually speak on this now to keep this energy in 2020 and not take this energy into 2021. (…) Samantha & Tyrese Gibson”
As fans might know, Tyrese and Samantha (Lee) tied the knot on February 14, 2017, almost 8 years after the actor had divorced from Norma Mitchell. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, on October 1, 2018.
