Former World Cup alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn and New Jersey Devils defenseman P. K. Subban called off their engagement.
The news regarding their split after two years of dating and one year of engagement was delivered through their official Instagram accounts. Vonn and Subban released the same selfie that they are seen smiling together and added different captions to announce the news. Vonn wrote:
“Over the past 3 years, PK and I have had some incredible times together. He is a kind, good man, and someone I respect a great deal.”
Following that opening sentence, Vonn revealed that she and Subban had decided to move forward separately, even though she did not mention the reason for it. The Laureus Sportswoman of the Year award winner, concluded her words as follows:
“We will always remain friends and love each other immensely. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time.”
As for ex-fiance Subban, as Vonn did, first mentioned what Vonn means to him by saying:
“Lindsey is one of the kindest and caring people I know. I will always treasure our time as a couple together and the many laughs we shared.”
After that, he added the exact same sentences as Vonn used in her caption, and the NHL star also did not reveal the main reason for the split. Both Subban and Vonn closed the comments section.
As fans might remember, Vonn and Subban began dating in 2018, after the former U.S. Ski Team athlete had ended her relationship with NFL assistant coach Kenan Smith in 2017. After a year of dating, Subban popped the question and the couple announced their engagement.
Here is Vonn’s post.
