American rapper G-Eazy, born Gerald Earl Gillum, took to Instagram the other day to celebrate the 5th anniversary of his third studio album, ‘When It’s Dark Out.’
Gillum shared the black and white album cover, in which he appears wearing a black leather jacket with “These things happen when it’s dark out,” and added a series of photos from previous concerts & tours.
In the caption section, Gillum wrote that the album, which was released on December 4, 2015, through RCA Records, totally changed his music career, and added:
“5 year anniversary of When Its Dark Out. This album changed everything for me and I’m forever grateful!”
Teasing that something special is on the way as a part of the celebration of the anniversary, the artist heralded bonus tracks that were scheduled to release in the next week.
“Got some special things planned to celebrate the anniversary to give back to the day 1s. Adding 3 brand new unreleased bonus tracks onto the end of the album next week. Stay tuned for more…”
Following the post, G-Eazy posted a pair of videos, in which he appears singing ‘Pray For Me,’ from ‘When It’s Dark Out,‘ to Instagram Stories, by tagging the digital music experience company Hydeout: The Prelude. With the posts, the singer made his followers think about the surprises.
Featuring Big Sean, E-40, Kehlani, Chris Brown, and Grace, G-Eazy’s third studio album was produced by OZ, DJ Spinz, Boi-1da, and Michael Keenan. The album debuted at no.1 on the United States Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. In its release week, it sold almost 135,000 copies just in the United States.
