The Weeknd collaborated with Latin Grammy Award-winning singer Rosalía for a Spanish-English remix for his ‘After Hours’ single ‘Blinding Lights.’
On December 3, the stars teased the remix through their official social media accounts simultaneously. On Twitter, The Weeknd, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, posted a photo of himself wrapping around Rosalía. As for the Spanish singer retweeted the post by tagging Tesfaye and adding a heart emoji.
Hours after these posts, the remix has been released with a music video accompanied by the lyrics of the song. In the music video, the artists are seen in their red color outfits, which same as in the photoshoots. For sure, The Weeknd appears with his signature bloody makeup, which made him look beaten-up. As fans might remember, the singer had kept this look in the original ‘Blinding Lights’ clip also.
The remix for the song, which is marked as Variety’s Hitmakers Record of the Year and the most-streamed song on Spotify in 2020, has been got credit in a pretty short time. On YouTube, the music video grabbed more than 400K likes and watched more than 5M times on the first day of release.
Although the song and the album won great recognition throughout the entire year, the Record Academy excluded The Weeknd and his works from the Grammy nominations. As the fans will recall, Tesfaye accused the committee of being corrupt after the nominations had been officially announced.
