Patti Smith, “punk poet laureate,” congratulated her daughter, Jesse Paris Smith for the Grammy nomination she had received for her album, ‘Songs from the Bardo.’
The influential component of the punk rock movement, Smith posted a black and white photo of his daughter, which sees her on the stage, and celebrated the achievement in her unique style; by writing a poem.
In the poem, Smith touched on that ‘Songs from the Bardo‘ featuring Tibetan artist and composer Tenzin Choegyal and avant-garde artist and composer Laurie Anderson, was nominated for Best New Age Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Here is the poem:

Regarding the nomination, also Jesse Paris Smith, who is a former member of music group Belle Ghoul, took to Instagram and wrote to thank fans & followers:
“Thank you again with all my heart to everyone for the congratulations and good wishes for the Grammy nomination of our album, Songs from the Bardo (New Age album of the year).”
The album, a fusion of “modern compositional techniques with the mystique of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy” was released on September 27, 2019, by Smithsonian Folkways Recordings. ‘Songs from the Bardo,’ consisting of 14 original songs in total, is marked as Jesse Paris Smith’s reinterpretation of ‘The Tibetan Book of the Dead.’ It became the number 1 song on the New Age Billboard Chart, and held the spot for 2 weeks.
