John Mayer Says The Pandemic Birthday Reminds Him Of Who He Is

Well-known singer, songwriter and record producer John Mayer, who released his latest album, ‘The Search for Everything’ released in 2017, took to Instagram in order to express celebrating birthday amid the coronavirus pandemic what means to him.

Mayer, turning 43 on October 16, posted a black and white photo of himself about to blow the birthday cake’s candle through his verified Instagram account and added an inspiring note.

The ‘Your Body Is a Wonderland’ singer began captioning by saying that he was not a big birthday guy, and continued:

“After a certain age, I think only the big odometer rollovers are worth celebrating – but yesterday taught me something about The Pandemic Birthday: it’s taken on a second life as an identity-affirming show of connection and belonging.”

Referring to the period that totally impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, the singer, stated that this year’s birthday reminded him of who he was:

“What an accidentally brilliant system, where for one day during this ongoing spirit-dimming ordeal, everyone will be held up to the light and not only celebrated, but reminded of who they are and what they mean to the world around them. I heard from loved ones, from my heroes, from my peers who continue to inspire me, from people with whom I wouldn’t have imagined my existence registered.”

Mayer concluded his words by thanking:

We are all vulnerable to depression these days, no matter how low grade, and The Pandemic Birthday may just be the one act of universal mental healthcare we have to keep us afloat. So with that, I say in the parlance of our times: thank you all for the birthday love. ♥️”

Following the post, Mayer’s industry friend jumped into the comment section to send their birthday wishes:

” Happy Bday, ya genius!” wrote, Justin Timberlake.

“Happy birthday brother!!💥💥💥💥” added, Alicia Keys.
