Bruno Mars, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, celebrated the tenth anniversary of his debut studio album entitled ‘Doo-Wops and Hooligans’ through an Instagram post.
Mars, posted a video on Instagram as he leafed through the music book of the said album adding the following note:
“When “Doo Wops and Hooligans” came out “Just The Way You Are” had just gone #1. So when the album initially sold poorly, it was considered a flop. But we kept fighting, pushing and performing. Now thanks to you, Doo Wops is the longest charting debut album ever and has sold over 14 million copies worldwide. There’s your proof that life is a marathon, not a race.”
Mars also played electric guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, drums, and horns in ‘Doo-Wops and Hooligans’ that was received generally favorable reviews from music critics.
The singer continued to tell of his achievements gained through the said album, thanked fans, and expressed that he prayed to sing and dance with them as soon as possible:
“As an amazing cherry on top, “Grenade” went diamond just the other day, which makes two diamond singles on the same album. So today we celebrate. To all the Hooligans, thank you for changing my life. I pray we’ll all be dancing together real soon.
The first album of Bruno Mars was released on October 4, 2010, by Atlantic and Elektra Records; sold 15,5 million copies worldwide.
