Machine Gun Kelly, born Richard Colson Baker, who marked a departure from rap in favor of a punk style, scored first Billboard number one with his fifth studio album ‘Tickets to My Downfall’ and celebrated this victory in a highly unusual way.

As known, ‘Tickets to My Downfall’ has been released on September 25, 2020 and earned 126,000 equivalent album units in the US in its first week.

Regarding this achievement, Baker first took Twitter and released the following message in order to thank his fans & followers:

“The journey is a marathon, but this week was a race. I owe the fans everything for pushing so hard but you did it!! Let’s celebrate now and again when touring opens up.”

Then the star uploaded a video that he appears throwing a pink guitar-shaped cake featured on the cover of his latest album, at a random car’s windshield, and called this act as a celebration. He captioned the video as follows:

WE DID IT. #1 album. 126,000 units first week. to the fans + EST you really made it happen the way we talked about 10 years ago. Today is a celebration. Sorry random car 😜😜😜😜”

However, Instagram users were quick to criticize him concerning his celebration way. Many of them stated that it was not a celebration, but an act of vandalism. Here are some of the comments:

“Someone really spent hours on that cake, just for that to happen.”

“This probably the dumbest way I’ve seen someone celebrate.”

“I’m sorry but that’s rude… not even cool 💔”
