Trinidadian-American rapper Nicki Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, is reportedly now a mom.
The ‘Anaconda’ rapper and her 42-year-old husband, Kenneth Petty welcomed their first baby according to news obtained by TMZ. Minaj gave birth on September 30 in Los Angeles; however, the gender and name of the baby have yet been stated.
As one’s remember, the 37-year-old rapper announced her pregnancy by uploading a series of photos of herself that she appears cradling her baby bump, on July 20, through Instagram. These photos came after she had sparked pregnancy rumors by appearing on 6ix9ine’s video clip.
According to the same website, Minaj has been planning to have a child for a while, and in wake of having got married to her childhood friend, Kenneth Petty, she could finally start a family. As the fans might recall, she wrote on Twitter in September 2019:
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, (X) in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”
Shortly after this statement, the rapper spoke to Billboard on the same issue:
“I love music and interacting with fans, so I can’t really see taking myself completely away. But I want to be open to other possibilities in my life. I do believe it is important to become a woman outside of the magnifying glass. I have to make sure that I’m well-rounded as a human being.”
Besides, the couple, who officially married on October 21, 2019, have not yet confirmed the news regarding having welcomed their baby.
