The prominent figure in popular music, Canadian rapper Drake honored fellow Lil Wayne on his 38th birthday. Drake, who states at every turn that his rapping style is influenced by Wayne, posted a series of photos of two with a highly candid message. He wrote on Instagram:
“More life to the man that gave me everything I have!!!”
The rapper, releasing his latest hit ‘POPSTAR’ a few weeks ago, called Lil Wayne as “my goat” and continued expressing his friendly feelings for the ‘How to Love’ rapper:
“My GOAT 🐐 and not just on some emoji s**t. Sometimes I wanna drop a tear but no emotions from a king…shall be…so I be…who I be…that’s me…that’s Weezy F Baby and please say the mothafu**in…”
As one’s remember Drake’s paths crossed with Wayne in 2007; after the ‘POPSTAR’ rapper had launched his sample ‘Man of the Year.’ Wayne invited Drake to join his ‘Tha Carter III’ tour, and the pair recorded multiple songs together. In the next years, Wayne supported him and made valuable contributions to his singles and albums.
In 2014, the two rap superstars hold a mega tour titled ‘Drake vs. Lil Wayne Tour’ and received superb feedback from both music critics and fans. So much so that, shortly before, a new joint tour has been reportedly discussed.
