Megan Thee Stallion Reacts To Right-Wing Politicians Who Criticize ‘WAP’

Megan Thee Stallion, recently named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, spoke to TIME and slammed Republican politicians and right-wing pundits who criticized ‘WAP’s explicit content.

Megan, who teamed up with Cardi B for the said song, stated that she could not understand why the track had attracted so much controversy and added:

“When I saw all of the politicians in an uproar about mine and Cardi’s ‘WAP’, I was just really taken back.”

The rapper, whom Tony Lanez targeted in his latest album with diss tracks, continued:

“Like, why is this your focus right now? If you have an issue with what I’m saying don’t listen to it. Tune out, ’cause I didn’t ask you to tune in.”

As one’s remember, the song released in August, came in for criticism especially from conservative commentators. A Republican running for a Congressional seat in California, James P. Bradley tweeted about ‘WAP,’ which is praised for its sex-positive message by music critics, and criticized it with the following words:

“Their new ‘song’ The #WAP (which I heard accidentally) made me want to pour holy water in my ears and I feel sorry for future girls if this is their role model!”

Similarly, ex-Republican congressional candidate, DeAnna Lorraine wrote on Twitter:

“Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion just set the entire female gender back by 100 years with their disgusting & vile ‘WAP’ song. The Democrats support this trash and depravity!”
