American actress, singer, and television personality Keke Palmer is now the official host of the 2020 MTV Music and Video Awards.
Palmer released the news through social media channels by uploading a video contains a “FaceTime call” between her and True Jackson, that she asks for styling help for “summer’s biggest stage with the world’s biggest artists.”
Also, at the start of the video, a statement reads: “I’M THE HOST AND YOU KNOW.”
The Daytime Emmy Award-nominated Palmer wrote along with the video:
“I heard you all were tired of 2020, let’s go back to 2008 😩
Join me as I host the 2020 @vmas on August 30th on @MTV! #VMAs”
As might be remembered, Palmer’s morning & talk show, ‘Good Morning America: Strahan, Sara, and Keke’ was canceled by ABC a few weeks before, and this cancellation led controversy; so much so that, this was interpreted as a punishment for Keke, who supports ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
The 2020 VMAs will air live at 8 p.m. ET/PT on August 30.
