Billie Eilish, winning biggest prizes for her debut album ‘When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go,’ dropped her new single, ‘My Future’ just a week after Taylor Swift’s surprise album ‘Folklore.’
The 18-year-old singer, receiving countless accolades for both her music style and artistry, announced the release of the new song, produced by her brother Finneas O’Connell, by sharing the teaser art on social media; she also uploaded an animated music video along with it. She wrote on Instagram:
“MY FUTURE SONG AND VIDEO OUT NOW OUT NOW OUT NOOOOOW🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰”
‘My Future’ became her first release since the official soundtrack of James Bond Movie, ‘No Time to Die,’ which hit No.1 in the United Kingdom.
Regarding the new release the ‘Bad Guy’ singer stated:
“We wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine. It’s a song that’s really, really personal and special to me. When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at — hopeful, excited, and a crazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth. But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.”
As soon as the new song came out, it grabbed great attention; Eilish received numerous positive feedback. So much so that, MTV left the following comment under the related post she shared:
“I YELLED WHEN THE BEAT KICKED IN OH MY GOD.”
