Christina Aguilera About Music Industry: “I Have Battled And Pushed Boundaries Against Double Standards”

One of Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, Christina Aguilera uploaded a series of backstage videos from ‘Bionic’ on Instagram on June 18 and mentioned the difficulties she has faced as a woman throughout her career.

One of the world’s best-selling music artists, Christina María Aguilera wrote as a caption:

“Growing up as a female in this business, I’ve battled and pushed boundaries against double standards. I’ve always stood up for women to express themselves —despite the opinions or shame tactics of others. From slut-shaming to prude labeling, judgments for being too skinny or too fat, and everything in between.”

Then ‘What a Girl Wants’ singer continued by narrating how she coped with all of the negatives:

“I’ve endured all of it. I am proud to have built a body of work behind me that has been unafraid to reflect all sides of me as a woman. #NotMyselfTonight is about being bold enough to feel empowered in my own skin. So I want to empower YOU to love yourself and never be afraid to own it!”

After that, the 39-year-old singer celebrated 10th anniversary of her album ‘Bionic’:

“#Bionic is all about being unabashedly YOU. #10YearsOfBionic”

Xtina’s loyal fans expressed their supports through comments:

“Your job has an important part on my journey to self-discovery and self-loving since beautiful you’ve been teaching some valuable stuff through your music and I’m glad you came into my life, inspiring me in so many ways. Thanks for making me a fighter, love you” wrote, Caco Bapt.
