One of the most-known rappers around the world, 50 Cent took to his social media channels to express his pride regarding his ageless hit, ‘In Da Club,’ on the 18th anniversary of its release.

The rapper, born Curtis James Jackson III, posted a screenshot of the news announcing the song hit one billion views on YouTube, and wrote as a caption that he can not believe that the song, he released on January 7, 2003, is still listened to that much.

“Hey you ain’t gonna believe this one, but 18 years ago today I dropped a song I recorded in LA and it’s still spinning 1,000 times a week at radio🤦‍♂️.”

The rapper, who recently got negative attention for his opinions on Joe Biden’s tax plan, gave credit to his fellow, Eminem, who discovered and introduced him to Dr. Dre, in 2002.

“I tell @eminem I love him for what he did for me, he put me on. 📺🔥”

After marking the anniversary, 50 cents also announced that a new music, Raising Kanan Theme Part of the Game ft @nlechoppamusic & @rileyy_lz, is available to listen to now.

According to an MTV interview dated 2004, 50 Cent revealed that the song, which became an anthemic single, had been recorded in five days with Dr. Dre.

“Dre, he’ll play dope beats. ‘These are the hits, 50. So pick one of these and make a couple of singles or something.’ The very first time he heard ‘In Da Club’ he said, ‘Yo, I didn’t think you was going to go there with it, but, you know, it works.’ He was probably thinking of going in a different direction with that song. Then he expanded it into a hit record.”

As fans might remember, a couple of weeks later of its release, ‘In Da Club’ topped the charts, and it became the rapper’s first no 1 on the US Billboard charts. The same year – 2003 – Billboard marked the song as “most listened-to song in radio history within a week.”

Here is the rapper’s tweet.
